Statement of Faith

I realize that as a creator of Bible studies and devotionals, you might want to know my statement of faith. All my printed books have gone through thorough edits from my publishers (Harvest House, NavPress, and Kregel), and that includes checking for any theological issues. You can read reviews of any of those books on Amazon. My downloadable resources are created through the same, Bible-first, Jesus-focused, Spirit-filled lens

I believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

Humankind, originally created in the image and likeness of God, fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. All people are born with a sinful nature, are separated from the life of God, and can be saved onlythrough the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

I believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

I believe the Bible to be the inspired and authoritative Word of God, which is living and active in the lives of believers.

Denominational background…

I grew up in the Christian and Missionary Alliance (similar theology to Baptist), and have attended/worked in the Christian Reformed church for most of my adult life. Most of my resources enable you to use whichever Bible translation you prefer, but when I have to choose, I use NIV, NLT, or the ICB (for young children).

If you adhere to the Nicene Creed, you will find my materials appropriate and helpful.
